Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

At Contempo Coding, we are not currently offering full training courses for medical coding credentials or certifications. As a small-scale operation, we're focused on providing targeted, high-quality resources rather than full-scale training programs.

While ICD-10-CM codes are updated annually in October, the AAPC exams reflect these changes starting on January 1 of the following year. A new course will be made available each calendar year to align with these updates. Only a negligible amount of information changes from year to year, which generally will not impact your chances of passing the exam. Please note that this course will not automatically update, so if you're planning to take the exam after the new year, we recommend purchasing the most current version available at that time.

You will have access to the course materials for 2 years from the date of purchase, allowing you to study at your own pace and review the content as needed.

Because of the immediate access to the course, refunds are not permitted if more than 20% of the course content has been viewed or more than 3 calendar days have passed since purchase. Refunds will not be issued for employer non-reimbursement, change of plans, or non-access of the course for a prolonged period of time.

This course is best suited for those who have some experience or prior knowledge in medical coding and are looking to refine their skills specifically for the CRC or RAC exams.

Questions pertaining to the course material can be asked in the course platform. Individual tutoring is not available.

While the course provides amazing content, we recommend having the latest ICD-10-CM code book for the most accurate and up-to-date information. The AAPC edition is recommended if planning to take the CRC exam. The CRC Study guide, available at AAPC.com is also recommended.

Over 4 hours of digital material is included as well as practice questions. Students must separately purchase coding books or any association memberships or exams if sitting for certification exams.

No. No official AAPC materials are used for this course.

The Risk Adjustment Coding Companion Course is designed to aide as a study tool for those preparing for certification or microcredential exams. It is not a good fit for those seeking a mastery-level knowledge in risk adjustment or insurance-specific RA policies.
